Hogg Mine Rock Swap
November 1, 2008

The Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society had a DMC field trip on Saturday, November 1, 2008 to Smith's Crossroads to collect beryl, schorl, and rose quartz at the Hogg Mine. We had a good turnout and again the weather was perfect-70 degrees and a beautiful bright sunny day. Everyone started arriving around 8:30am for a full day of collecting. Rodney Moore had the shelter area occupied with dealers and food including barbeque, bratwurst and hot dogs.
